I love thunderstorms. Because sometimes nature can’t handle the pressure. Because sometimes the sky just needs to explode.
On Saturday, when I was driving to meet Karisma and Tanner, it was pouring down rain, and we had experienced hail just a few more minutes before that. The fact that they didn’t cancel on me told me everything I needed to know about the session.
THEY. WERE. DOWN.
They were down for the rain, they were down for shine, and they were ready to let down any barriers to let me capture who they are as a couple – and that trust is everything in a shoot. They embraced the playful and goofy moments, as well as the romantic and passionate ones, which was so much fun for me. Passion can definitely be harder to bring out in people because it requires a great amount of comfort with yourself, your partner, and with the photographer, but man when that trifecta comes together – perfection. These two had all-around comfort in spades and I think it totally shows in the images.
We were also supposed to shoot at a completely different location, but we stopped here in Selah and just never left. This part of town always makes me feel like I’m in Arizona, which just seems so random because it’s just this huge rock surrounded by tons of farmland! I don’t why it’s there, but I’m a fan.
Yakima, you’re the best…thank you for being so pretty, I like it when you’re a moody girl.
