This is my 3rd blog post with Brice + Cecilia and I absolutely, positively adore them. We’ve all clicked from the very beginning (what was supposed to be a meeting over appetizers, turned into a two hour dinner) and I cannot tell you how fortunate I feel to be the one to tell their love story. They invested in my wedding photography when I didn’t have tons to show for it, and I can never thank them enough for their belief in me.
Brice + Cecilia had a beautiful ceremony at Holy Family in Yakima, and from there we moved the party to Gilbert Cellars at the Hackett Ranch. The decor was timeless but the party was unique – they combined Cecilia’s Mexican heritage and Brice’s Rwandan culture for one hell of a party. I would say the day really got started once the DJ opened up the floor for everyone to join, and I’d like to add how well the DJ switched from genre to genre.
Finally, I was able to scrape the new Mr. & Mrs. off the dance floor to go take some sunset portraits, and as soon as we got out into the orchard Brice heard a song that he knew would get his side of the party going. I should mention that I’ve been super fascinated by learning about the Rwandan culture ever since I booked with them, and because Brice knew this he excitedly told me we needed to cut our time away short so I could go watch his family do some traditional dances. I obliged and it DID NOT disappoint. I even forced Brice’s brother into showing me some steps – what a freeing and unique experience. Needless to say, Brenden and I’s bags are packed and we’re ready to go visit Rwanda.
To the new Mr. & Mrs. Dukuzimana, I am so elated for you. You were the best clients a girl could ask for, but I think you’re going to be even better friends. Love you both.
