It’s not deja vu – I was fortunate enough to shoot an additional proposal at Suncadia Resort in Cle Elum, WA this year! Robbie had found my previous blogged proposal at the resort and he was so moved by the spot that he saw that he knew he just had to do it there. Good artists borrow, great artists steal.
When he contacted me over a month before the date he knew he wanted to propose, we went over the logistics for him to pop the big question, which included Suncadia’s beautiful lookout near the Lodge, and how we were going to get Diane there without her being suspicious. I suggested that I could pretend to be a contracted photographer for Suncadia just getting some new images for their website, and I also just happen to ask them to pose for some shots for the resort. Along with that we came up with a back up plan just in case it rained, because, you know…October + Cascade Mountains = rain…most of the time.
But sure enough, on the day of, the weather was absolutely spectacular. Clear, sunny, and not windy – we had hit mother nature’s jackpot. I, however, was feeling incredibly nervous about my acting ability, I didn’t want to mess up or make it weird because I knew I could potentially mess up the moment. Lucky for me the Suncadia staff let me wait behind the desk with them to make it seem legit, so a huge thank you to them for making this possible, they were so amazing to work with.
I’m so happy to report that my acting skills were on point, and that our plan went off without a hitch! Hopefully, we gave Diane one of the best surprises of her life!
